Being a WAHM (work at home mom) is a privilege and and honor.  My name is Shannan Hearne and I am an American WAHM. 

As I have watched the shambles of our government and our economy I have decided it is time to do something.  I am pulling together all the work at home moms and small business owners to form our own version of the "Tea Party".  Let's come together and take back America for ourselves, our families, and especially our children!

What is America?  The land of the free?  The home of the brave?  Or has America become an economic cesspool that stifles small business and brings small, independent work at home moms and dads to their financial knees?

Hi, my name is Shannan Hearne and I am asking you today to join a movement.    You’ve heard of the tea parties.  You know about the right and the left, the conservatives and the liberals.  This isn’t a party – it is a movement, a demand for change in our government to save the America we know and love before it is too late.

We aren’t Democrats, Republicans, or Liberals.  We are independent of party because we are dependent upon our government.   The great author and philosopher Mark Twain said, "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, & your government when it deserves it".  The AmericanWAHM movement is patriotism at its finest.  We support our troops.  We support our neighbors.  We support our elected officials who support the constituents that elected them in the first place.  We honor our fathers and our mothers and our religious and spiritual beliefs.  We believe that there are moral standards that this great country was founded on which should be upheld.  

The first step is to find your voice.  The second step is to come together with like minded people and help them find their voices.  Invite your friends and family.  You don’t have to be a work at home mom or dad, or a small business owner.  Your voice AND your vote still counts.   The third step is to start talking.  Tell your congressman, tell your president, tell the media, tell the world.  In past times of trouble in our great nation’s history it has taken a freight train of effort to get your voice heard.  We no longer have to march on Washington with signs or burn our bras or grow our hair long or move to Canada.  The power of the internet makes it possible for your voice to be heard from the comfort of your own home.  The power of the media makes it possible for our message to be shared and our movement to grow exponentially.

It is way past time that government listens to the people it was elected to represent.  Tell government EXACTLY what you think at the election polls.  But don’t wait until elections to let your voice be heard.  We can be a voice for important positive change in America.  We are the people.  And it is time that we were heard.
